Recently a new generation of young lions has come to the fore at Portage Knife. In 1997, at the age of 86, Paul Grimes decided to retire to his ranch in Panama, Central America. He sold his interest in the company to Chris Michalec, Jeannine Lizak , and Duane Huff to ensure the continued success of his firm into the next millenium. When he is in the country, Paul continues to design machines for new manufacturing processes at the facility to "get the labor out of the process".
